Senior Open countdown: Irwin tees up ticket sales
By Lon Matejczyk (May 18, 2007)
I am not that good a golfer, but, most of the time I can get off the tee box pretty well. Playing the East Course at The Broadmoor for media day was a bit challenging. The course was challenging from a lightening delay and a broken golf cart on one hand, but also challenging from "where did my ball go as it disappeared into the long rough standpoint?" The fairways have been drastically narrowed from the normal member and resort-friendly standards.

By Randy Youngman (March 15, 2007)

Senior special - Broadmoor East gets a (daunting) makeover
By Stewart Schley
It's a hacker's worst nightmare: Once-friendly fairways that have turned into scornful, supermodel-thin alleys; tee boxes that recede deep into a murky beyond, turning familiar approaches into distant, discouraging stretches of land. If that isn't bad enough, soon they'll let the deep rough grow to five inches of oppressive evil, a maw dense enough to swallow a golf ball whole and bury it in a thicket that can stop a 7-iron cold in its descent.

The 2008 U.S. Senior Golf Open to be held in Colorado Springs
By Lon Matejczyk
Mark your calendars for July 28 through August 3, 2008. The 2008 U.S. Senior Open is coming to town. I shot a 47 on the front nine of The Broadmoor's East Course over the weekend, which isn't bad for me. I put a string of pars together and then thought in my head, "I am not this good," and proceeded to throw-out an eight.
